VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION - Ministers assist the priest and give Holy Communion during the Holy Mass and also take Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins. You can join the ministry at any time. You need to make an appointment with the pastor via the office. The diocese provides training and workshops every year.
MINISTERS OF THE WORD - They proclaim the Word of God during the Sunday and weekday Holy Masses. The diocese provides training and workshops every year. You are welcome to join this ministry at any time.
MUSIC MINISTRY - Join our choir on Sunday mornings or become a cantor. Organists: Michael Laczko and Alison Clark.
ALTAR SERVERS - Girls and boys are welcome to serve at the altar on Sunday and daily Masses. We welcome adult servers as well. Please speak to the priest to get more information.
LITURGICAL MINISTRY - Barbara Gray is our volunteer sacristan who sets up for Mass and looks after the sacristy and sanctuary. There are volunteers who support her. Are you interested to join this ministry?
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY. Upon request we provide prayer assistance to grieving families and individual persons. The members of the ministry lead the vigil prayer at the funeral home. They assist at the funeral liturgy in church. There is a special choir available for funeral masses. Once a year before Christmas we invite the families who lost loved ones in the passing year to a special memorial Holy Mass.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY - This group specializes in serving meals in our parish hall at various functions, also organizing funeral receptions.

Catholic Women Unite is a League campaign to engage Catholic women from across Canada to share the many reasons to unite in membership. Learn more at CatholicWomenUnite.ca We hold fun quarterly gatherings with a little business and community events throughout the year. Please check the bulletin for more information.
MADONNA DELLA LIBERA COMMUNITY
St. Mary's is the home for the copy of the statue of Our Lady that is located in Pratola in Italy. Every year we celebrate the Festa with a solemn Holy Mass said both in Italian and English followed by the procession around the neighbourhood. Italian delicacies are served in the parish hall at the end of celebrations.
LEGION OF MARY
The Legion of Mary was founded in 1921 by Frank Duff who “devoutly practiced his religion. He attended Mass regularly, visited the Blessed Sacrament daily and prayed the Rosary. The core of Frank Duff’s dreams and deeds was his devotion to Mary, the Mother of God.” The St. Mary’s Parish Legion of Mary meets every Thursday morning for one hour after 9:00am Mass. Members come together to pray and to discuss their acts of charity such as visiting shut ins. Members also recite the Legion prayers daily. All parishioners are invited to come and spend time in prayer. For more information, please contact Veronica (519-756-2404).

Come join us Saturday mornings (will begin again in September) to listen and to talk about what it means to be a Catholic-Christian man. St. Pius X Catholic Church Hall. No fees and come as often as you like.
